With expanding programs in studio art, graphic design, and industrial and innovative design, Cedarville University’s Art and Design Department offers students a wide array of course offerings and opportunities within the context of a Christian liberal arts education.
Graphic design, a popular major at Cedarville, has enjoyed the success of its students in internship opportunities and job placement. Outstanding professors who have successful careers as graphic designers provide a depth of course work that prepares students for a career in visual communication. Students work in state-of-the-art labs with industry standard software.
The art and design department has an exciting, new component to its offerings — the industrial and innovative design major. The program is unique to evangelical, Christian higher education. The initial two years of the program are spent on campus with concentrations in general studies, Bible, and foundation art courses. The final two years of study are in Columbus where students will experience rigorous, in-depth classroom work and on-site work experiences, all while thriving in an environment of industry and art. Students will then choose an assignment in product design, transportation design, architectural space design, or interior space design as a final capstone project.
The Cedarville University Department of Art and Design is an artistic and academic learning community fostering and equipping Christian artists and designers to pursue a God-honoring life by creatively expressing, evaluating, developing, and communicating visual art and design.
