by Department of History and Government

Alumni relations and the department of history and government sponsored the first annual departmental reunion at Homecoming 2010. Kicking off the event with an Alumni panel discussion, five alumni spoke to a group of faculty, students, and other alumni attendees. Panelists included Trenton Hamilton '02, John Hart '81, Stephen Hinks '83, Karla Herdzik Robleto '05, and Tyler Yoder '07. Each provided stories, insight, and helpful comments for current students about graduate school and career decisions.

Following the panel, alumni, their families, and students enjoyed a barbeque meal. The time of fellowship afforded a great opportunity for faculty to catch up with former students and for students to continue the conversations started at the panel discussion with alumni.

Evening reunion activities included the awarding of the first annual Departmental Alumnus of the Year honor, which was given to Trenton Hamilton. While the Air Force keeps him busy working in the JAG Corps, Trenton has regularly made himself available to help current Cedarville students and participate in local ministry endeavors. His faithfulness to his family and his calling exemplifies the ideals and principles the department of history and government seeks to instill in its students.

Plan now to attend Homecoming  2011 next fall on September 30-October 1.
