Cedarville University welcomes renowned entrepreneur and author John D. Beckett to campus on November 17 for a conference titled “Loving Monday: Succeeding in Your Business Without Selling Your Soul”.
Beckett will be joined by local, national and international business leaders for an inspiring, in-depth look at living out one’s faith in the workplace. Beckett’s first book “Loving Monday: Succeeding in Business Without Selling Your Soul,” has encouraged business professionals around the world to find meaning and purpose by showing practical ways of integrating work and beliefs.
Born and raised in Ohio, Beckett graduated from M.I.T. in 1960 and began working as an engineer in the aerospace industry. After his father’s death, Beckett became president of the family company, Beckett Corporation, and now serves as chairman, where he helped to make the business a global leader in the manufacturing and selling of engineered components for residential and commercial heating.
Beckett has been named “Christian Businessman of the Year” by the Christian Broadcasting Network (1999) and manufacturing “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst and Young (2003). Beckett’s first book was published in 1998, and he published a second book in 2006 titled “Mastering Monday: A Practical Guide to Integrating Faith and Work.”
The conference will begin at 8 a.m. on November 17. Attendees may attend breakout sessions and panel discussions throughout the day as well as network with key business personnel. Registration is $50 and can be done online or by calling 877-233-2784.
