NCATE Recognizes Cedarville University Excellence

Cedarville University’s Adolescent/Young Adult Science Education Portfolio — developed and written by Bill Jones, Ph.D., associate professor of biology and AYA science education program coordinator — was selected by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) for inclusion in its Specialized Professional Associations (SPAs) Assessment Library.

The portfolio is one of several assessments nationally considered excellent examples of assessments that were successful in meeting NCATE/SPA standards. NCATE recommends the portfolio as an exemplar and encourages other college and university teacher education program architects to use this assessment as a helpful guide as they develop their own key assessments for NCATE program review.
