The Cedarville University music department invites you to attend Bach’s Lunch, a series of free noontime concerts featuring a wide variety of musical selections performed by various musicians. Attendees are invited to bring a boxed lunch to enjoy during the recital.
On April 17, Bach’s Lunch presents The Demerits in the Stevens Student Center Lobby. The group, led by John Mortensen, D.M.A., professor of piano, plays Irish and American roots music in and around Cedarville as well as on the radio. They have also played with fiddle phenomenon and Solas co-founder Winifred Horan. The group formed in 2003 and has recorded seven albums to date: “Plays Well with Others,” “Roadtrip,” “Not Far from the Tree,” “Made from Scratch,” “Dance by the Light of the Moon,” “123GO” and “Sack of Tunes.” The Demerits are happiest when tossing off a set of lilting jigs, blazing reels and bluegrass tunes for anyone who will listen.
