From Christian ministries to the Center for Bioethics and the office for enrollment management and marketing, Cedarville University offers resources to the public as it seeks to fulfill its goal of being an active influence in spiritual, moral, professional and social spheres.
Chapel and Music Recordings
Christian ministries offers CD and recordings of HeartSong, the University’s traveling worship team, and OneVoice, the University’s gospel choir. Recordings are also available on iTunes. The more popular resources are chapel recordings, accessible to the public through online streaming, downloadable podcasts and portable format CDs, DVDs and MP3s. Chapel messages are also available on iPhone, iPod, iPad or Android by downloading the free cuMobile application.
“We want everyone who is unable to attend chapel to have an opportunity to listen to the services so that they may be encouraged and challenged in their own walks with the Lord by the men and women who come to share during the chapel hour,” said Brooke Colon, secretary to the office of vice president for Christian ministries.
Cedarville also offers resources to the public on the CedarEthics webpage. Under the direction of Dennis Sullivan, M.D., the Center for Bioethics is dedicated to conducting research, promoting discussion and engaging scholars on current bioethics issues. The CedarEthics site is a place where the public can access the Director’s Commentary blog, discussing issues ranging from abortion to end-of-life enhancement, to eugenics and euthanasia. Additionally, the site contains the CedarEthics podcast and a number of resources on bioethics and bioethics blog links.
“The Center for Bioethics seeks to reach students, the academic arena, the church and the general public,” Sullivan said. “We want to educate the public about these important issues and promote discussion.”
CedarEthics also contains a student academic journal section called CedarEthics Online. CedarEthics Online is a forum for outstanding papers on the topic of bioethics written by students of Cedarville University.
Cedarville’s enrollment management and marketing department also offers resources for prospective students and parents, including free webinars on topics such as making college more affordable, completing the FAFSA and learning at the collegiate level. The enrollment management and marketing department has created a ParentPrep website for parents of new students that contains multiple online resources for parents interested in discovering more about Cedarville.
“The website is designed to help parents be as informed as possible about the college decision process,” said Roscoe Smith, associate vice president for enrollment strategies.
Along with college planning webinars, the website also includes a blog that addresses relevant topics and links to financial aid resources.
