HeartSong ministries recently announced touring team members for the 2012-2013 school year. Of the 32 team members, 22 are returning, and the students’ strong talent will allow for a busier touring schedule than previous years. New and returning members look forward to leading their national audience in worship during upcoming tours.
Last summer, four teams traveled over 28,000 combined miles spanning from Dallas to Boston. The tours included leading worship for 28 weeks of youth camp and 70 churches, as well as singing to over 10,000 junior high and high school students.
The HeartSong teams are intentional about sharing the gospel and promoting Cedarville University as a Christ-centered learning community. In addition to leading worship, the teams were instrumental in gathering information for over 5,600 prospective students last summer.
Jim Cato, director of HeartSong ministries, praised the teams’ past accomplishments and expressed his excitement for the new teams and the upcoming year.
“They were very intentional about building strong relationships with not only the students there, but also with each other,” Cato said.
According to Cato, the HeartSong fan base is quickly growing. The HeartSong Facebook page has received 7,500 likes and the Twitter account claims over 1,200 followers. Team members also update fans with video blogs throughout the summer.
