Cedarville University’s department of art, design, and theatre presents Andrew Lloyd Webber’s, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” a musical about the biblical saga of Joseph.
When Joseph is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, purchased by Potiphar, falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife, and thrown into jail, Joseph is continually tested by those threatening to ruin him. His life takes a radical turn when news of Joseph’s gift to interpret dreams reaches the Pharaoh. Set to an engaging set of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to 1950s rock ‘n’ roll, this story teaches forgiveness and a timeless tale from the Old Testament.
“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” opens January 31 at 8 p.m. Matinee shows begin at 2 p.m February 1-2 and February 9, and additional showings at 10 a.m February 8 and 3 p.m. on February 10.
