Cedarville University is ranked 13th in the Top 100 Baccalaureate Colleges category of the 2012 Washington Monthly College Rankings. According to a Carnegie classification, baccalaureate colleges are schools that focus on undergraduate education but offer fewer than half of their degrees in the liberal arts.
Published since 2005, the rankings measure a school’s return value to its students. The rankings are based on elements such as net price of attendance, total research expenditures, Peace Corps and ROTC rankings, community service participation and hours served rankings, among other factors. All these contribute to a school’s overall score.
The rankings reward colleges with better-than-expected graduation rates while also accounting for tuition pricing. Cedarville University tuition rate is very competitive at $25,496 annually. According to the publication, colleges that are both effective and of high value from a tuition perspective get the highest marks. With these considerations, Cedarville University improved 11 spots from its previous ranking in 2011. The full rankings can be viewed at www.WashingtonMonthly.com.
