The Ohio State University College of Nursing Alumnus Society selected Cedarville University’s acting dean of the school of nursing, Carrie Keib, to receive the Distinguished Recent Alumnus award for exemplifying outstanding professionalism as a nurse.

At the college of nursing alumni homecoming reunion and award dinner on Oct. 18, Keib was selected as the award recipient for striving above and beyond in the field of nursing. Other exceptional nursing alumni were nominated for success in their professional careers and community volunteering activities.

The award is significant for Keib because of The Ohio State University college of nursing’s prestige as well as the award’s reflection of her personal motivations. Keib emphasized the honor as a reflection of what God has allowed her to accomplish with her nursing degree.

“Being recognized for outstanding professionalism as a nurse is quite an honor,” Keib said. “It reflects the manner in which I strive to serve others through the ministry of nursing.”

The college of nursing’s national reputation for transformational leadership and innovation in nursing and health is also testament to Keib’s leadership in the Cedarville University School of Nursing. “As a leader in this school, this award is an acknowledgement of the quality of the nursing leaders and educators who serve here at Cedarville,” Keib said.
