Dyson Named to Director of Intercultural Leadership Position

by Mark Weinstein, Executive Director of Public Relations

Gregory Dyson has been named the director of intercultural leadership at Cedarville University. Dyson’s appointment will begin in April.

Dyson, currently serving as the dean of admissions for Word of Life Bible Institute in Pottersville, NY, has worked in Christian ministries since he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible from Cedarville University in 1998. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in organizational leadership from Cairn University.

This position, recently created by Thomas White, president, will coordinate diversity issues from a biblical perspective with all university vice presidents. It will report to White, and Dyson is expected to help move Cedarville toward a more diverse approach in higher education and student recruitment.

“I am really pleased with Greg’s appointment to this important position,” said White. “Greg brings experience in ministry and recruitment that, I believe, will help strengthen Cedarville University and advance the kingdom of Christ.”

At Word of Life, Dyson was responsible for overseeing the recruitment and enrollment teams for its campuses in New York, Florida, Owen Sound, Canada, and Jeju Island in Northeast Asia. Prior to this position, he held a variety of pastoral positions, including the senior pastor for Church in the Acres in Springfield, Mass.

In his new role, Dyson will oversee all diversity-related initiatives on campus, including all diversity committees. He will assist in the development of recruitment-related activities so that Cedarville gains a more diverse student population and will serve as the liaison for intercultural-related issues. Dyson will also develop external relationships with selected churches and organizations for the purpose of the recruitment of faculty, staff, and students from ethnically diverse backgrounds.

Dyson and his wife, Gina, are parents to three daughters. They will relocate to the Cedarville area in April.
