Special Offers Encourage Students to Visit Cedarville

by Jenni Hodges, Public Relations Writer

Special offers from Cedarville University are making it easier for prospective students to visit and experience campus this spring. Accepted students who schedule a first-time visit before April 30 will receive travel reimbursement up to $100 for gas or $200 for flight costs. On Jan. 17, bus tours from Des Moines, Iowa, and Grand Rapids, Mich., will also help students travel to campus.

Sarah Allen, associate director of guest services, said campus visits are vital to helping high school students decide where to attend college, and many are visiting fewer schools. With more than two-thirds of Cedarville students coming from outside Ohio, Allen said even considering the University often requires a significant investment. Cedarville’s special offers are designed to make traveling more feasible, and Allen said she hopes they will help create a more diverse freshman class for next year.

Special events for prospective students include a CU Monday and Friday on Feb. 17 and March 28, the spring academic preview on March 29 and All-Access Orientation days on March 14 and April 11.
