"A Christmas Carol" Airing on Resound Radio

by Will Duncan, Public Relations Writer

Cedarville’s student radio station, Resound Radio will air a live performed and recorded radio script of Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol” on December 24 and 25.

The cast list includes Cedarville University faculty, staff and students. “Scrooge” is played by Mark Spencer, associate professor of music; the “Spirit of Christmas Past” is played by Rebecca Baker, associate professor of theatre; and the narration is provided by 2014 Cedarville graduate, Doug Malcolm.

The production was performed for a live audience, who had the opportunity to participate with the cast. The show has live underscore music, and sound effects that were recorded with audience members before the show.

“This production is unique because it is a radio script that was performed for a live audience,” said James Leightenheimer, associate professor of communications. “Some roles were cast the night of the show from the audience, and the audience was invited to sing Christmas carols with the cast during the show.”

Students and professors from Cedarville University performed and recorded the live radio script at the Cedarville Opera House on December 5-6.
