Retired Lt. Gen. Loren Reno, dean of the school of business administration, will speak at the National Day of Prayer luncheon at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, on Feb. 5. The event is from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. The 2015 theme for the National Day of Prayer is “Lord, Hear Our Cry.”

“We chose Lt. Gen. Loren Reno to speak because of his amazing Air Force career,” said Chaplain (Capt.) David Merrifield.

According to the National Day of Prayer website, this theme focuses on the need for people “to place their faith in the unfailing character of their Creator, who is sovereign over all governments, authorities and men.” The key verse for the day is 1 Kings 8:28: “Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day."

Reno served in the Air Force for 38 years and was its senior logistician at the time of his retirement. In this role, he provided policy oversight and budget advocacy for more than 200,000 maintainers, logisticians, civil engineers and security forces. In addition, Reno served in the Defense Logistics Agency for 13 years and helped to provide logistical support to all branches of the armed forces. He helped provide logistical and security support during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom and was inducted into the Defense Logistics Agency Hall of Fame in summer 2014.
