The Forensics Speech Team from Cedarville University will compete in the National Christian College Forensics Invitational March 19-22 at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado.

The Cedarville team has performed well this season, placing first in the Ohio Forensics Association Novice State Tournament at Ohio University and second in the open small school division at the University of Akron.

In the Colorado tournament, Cedarville’s team will compete with several prepared speeches featuring topics such as chivalry and new medical technologies as well as readings from plays and literature.  The national tournament will also require limited preparation events with speeches focusing on global and domestic issues. In this event, the students will have a minute and a half to prepare impromptu speeches and 30 minutes to prepare seven-minute persuasive speeches.

Team adviser and chair of the department of communication Derrick Green said, “I'm looking forward to traveling to the National Christian College Forensics Invitational with the Cedarville University speech team as we represent our Lord and Cedarville University.”

Located in southwest Ohio, Cedarville University is an accredited, Christ-centered, Baptist institution with an enrollment of 3,620 undergraduate, graduate and online students in more than 100 areas of study.
