Online Master’s Program Nationally Ranked

Cedarville University’s online Master of Education program gained high marks by in a national ranking of programs. In the 2015 ranking, Cedarville’s program ranked 23rd in the United States and is the second-highest ranked program in Ohio. Franciscan University of Steubenville was ranked 22nd.

Schools are ranked according to admissions, enrollment and graduation and retention rates. Schools within these rankings outperform other schools in education quality and also have higher retention and graduation rates than all other accredited public and private schools offering master’s degrees.
Cedarville’s affordable Master of Education is a 34-credit program. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in education from a regionally accredited institution and be currently licensed, or have previously had a license to teach. Cedarville’s program is designed to help teachers increase their classroom effectiveness by preparing educators to assume leadership roles in their schools and in the teaching profession. The program is designed specifically to accommodate the schedules of busy teachers.

"Our M.Ed. program and associated graduate courses are designed to prepare teachers to be leaders not only in the classroom, but also as researchers and, in some cases, building principals. It is our desire to prepare Christian educators to be used strategically by God in Kingdom ministry anywhere in the world,” says Steve Gruber, Ed.D., assistant dean of the school of education and director of the M.Ed. program.

“Our totally online graduate programs bring the benefits of distance learning – convenience and flexible scheduling at a low cost – with the personal contact with professors and other students. Our academically rich programs develop technological and pedagogical skills in educators to effectively teach the 21stcCentury learner,” affirmed Jeremy Ervin, Ph.D., dean of the school of education.
Cedarville offers other graduate degree programs including a Master of Business Administration, Master of Ministry, Master of Science in Nursing, and Doctor of Pharmacy.
