The school of pharmacy at Cedarville University will host its first ever career fair on Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

National chains and locally owned pharmacies, including Rite Aid, The Kroger Company, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Appro-Rx, Meijer, Discount Drug Mart and Fruth will be in attendance. . The event will allow individuals interested in working in this health field the opportunity to interact with representatives from the organizations. It will also allow for both the professional and pre-pharmacy students to network for preceptorship opportunities.

“This is the ideal starting point to have a career fair devoted to pharmacy as we look to graduate the first professional class in spring 2016, said Marc Sweeney, PharmD.,dean of the school of pharmacy.

Cedarville University has been hosting career fairs for more than 20 years. This is one reason why the University’s career first destination rate is 94.2 percent.  As the school of pharmacy begins to graduate students year after year this average is expected to increase.

“It is important for us to connect great talent with great opportunity and one way we can do this is by hosting career fairs for our students,” said Jeff Reep, director of career services.

“You never stop networking,” Sweeney said. “You do it throughout your entire professional career and that goes for any profession. Any freshman that walks on campus ought to begin networking their first semester.”

To register for the event as vendor or participant, register at or contact the Cedarville career services office on or before Nov. 11.

This event is open to the public.
