Cedarville University hosts fourth annual Pharmacy Career Fair

by Michaela Carpenter, Public Relations Writer

Cedarville University’s School of Pharmacy will host its fourth annual Fall Pharmacy Career Fair in the Stevens Student Center on Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Many interviews will be scheduled until 4 p.m.

Attendees will meet with representatives from retail pharmacies, hospitals, health systems and pharmaceutical companies to showcase resident and employment opportunities. More than 14 employers are registered for the event, including CareSource, Walgreens and West-Ward Pharmaceuticals (now Hikma).

Professional pharmacy students will have the opportunity to learn about post-graduation education opportunities in the Dayton area from Premier Health, Kettering Medical Center, and Mary Rutan Hospital. This year the fair is also open to pre-pharmacy students, so they can network with pharmacy employers about pharmacy tech and intern positions.

The fair will also welcome alumni back to campus, many of whom are full-time employees or pharmacy residents. Andrea Enterline, a 2017 Cedarville graduate and a first-year resident at CareSource, will return to campus to meet with students.

“I love that I can connect with students as someone who was in their shoes not long ago,” said Enterline. “I'm looking forward to sharing more about my experience as a resident and hope to be a resource for those who want to pursue this career path."

Cindy Burban, director of community engagement for the school of pharmacy, is eager to see how the career fair benefits those who attend.

"Anytime we facilitate an opportunity where our community partners, alumni, pharmacy students and faculty are all engaging, it strengthens relationships and creates a rewarding experience for all involved,” said Burban.
