by Public Relations Staff

Cedarville University's Department of Science and Mathematics will host a solar eclipse watch party on Monday, Aug. 21 from 2-3 p.m. The department will have telescopes with solar filters set up on the south side of the Engineering and Science building, and will have a limited supply of eclipse glasses to safely view the eclipse. The observatory will be open for viewing the sun on a projection screen.

Cedarville University also plans to stream the eclipse live on its Facebook page from 2-3 p.m. at facebook.com/cedarville.

The eclipse will be at its height (with approximately 90% of the sun covered in southwest Ohio) at 2:30, but the eclipse will officially begin at 1:00 and last until 3:50pm Eastern time.
