Amazing Generosity for Students Impacted by Pandemic

by Clem Boyd, Communication Content Manager

The generosity of Cedarville University alumni and friends was overwhelming during the university’s “CU Give Hope Day” Wednesday, April 8, as 475 individuals contributed $214,907 for scholarships for students who were hit the hardest by the coronavirus pandemic.

The giving total and number of donors far exceeded expectations. The initial goal was to raise $100,000, and the number of donors surpassed the 328 people who participated during the university’s annual Giving Tuesday campaign in the fall.

“These gifts will provide scholarships and emergency funding to students who are facing financial hardship during this uncertain time and will make it possible for students to return to Cedarville in the future,” commented Dr. Thomas White, president of Cedarville University.

“We thank the Lord for the amazing generosity of Cedarville family and friends. He has shown once again that he is able to do more than all we ask or imagine.”

The fundraising effort happened all-online. Although the campaign has officially concluded, the university is still accepting financial contributions until June 30 at cedarville.edu/CUGiveHope.
