Gospel Coalition Editor Speaking in Chapel

Matt Smethurst, managing editor of The Gospel Coalition, will speak in chapel at Cedarville University on Wednesday, Sept. 3, and Thursday, Sept.4. Chapel begins at 10 a.m and is open to the public.

Smethurst recently published “Before You Open Your Bible: Nine Heart Postures For Approaching God’s Word” (10 Publishing, 2019) and “1-2 Thessalonians: A 12-Week Study” (Crossway, 2017).

Smethurst served as a missionary for two years in East Asia, then returned to the United States for a pastoral internship in Washington, D.C. In 2012, Smethurst earned a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He and his wife, Maghan, have three children and live in Louisville, Kentucky. Smethurst serves as an elder at Third Avenue Baptist Church.
