International Church Planter to Speak

Micah FriesMicah Fries, senior pastor of Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee, will speak in chapel at Cedarville University on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Chapel begins at 10 a.m. and is open to the public.

Fries holds a Bachelor of Arts in theology from The Baptist College of Florida and a Master of Divinity from Midwestern Seminary. He is currently studying for his Ph.D. in North American missiology at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Fries was an international church planter in Burkina, Faso, West Africa, and then moved to Missouri where he was a pastor at two churches. Fries also served as president of the Missouri Baptist Convention Pastors’ Conference and second vice president of the Missouri Baptist Convention.

He is the author of a commentary volume on Haggai and Zephaniah in the Christ-Centered Commentary Series and the co-editor and author of “Islam & North America: Loving our Muslim Neighbors.” He is co-writing a book about church leadership with Jeremy Maxfield that will be published by Moody Press.

He married his wife, Tracy, in 2000 and they have three children: Sarah Grace, Kessed Noel and Haddon.
