The Campus Security department of Cedarville University is a multi-faceted operation that performs a wide range of safety and security related services for the campus. This list has been prepared as a means to provide an over-view of those key areas of responsibility.
  • ID card services – for faculty, staff and students; family & retiree passes, specific employee passes.
  • Vehicle registration for faculty, staff and students.
  • Special permits issued for – fleet vehicle driving licenses, bike registration, visitor parking permits, fishing licenses.
  • Student drivers training.
  • Fingerprinting services for BCI and FBI background checks.
  • Passport photos.
  • Issuance of campus keys and oversight of all access control systems.
  • Dispatch operations and surveillance systems monitoring.
  • Lost & Found property management.
  • 24/7, daily campus patrol services for the purpose of monitoring the physical security & safety of campus buildings and grounds. This includes handling the building unlocks and lock-ups.
  • Campus Security Act Compliance, as defined and required by Federal law.
  • Criminal investigations.
  • Parking and traffic management (includes parking/traffic enforcement and the issuance & adjudication of violations).
  • Managing a campus wide program for handling confiscated and found bikes on the premises.
  • Motor Vehicle accident investigations.
  • Emergency Preparedness – over-sight of emergency response plans.
  • Fire Safety and Prevention compliance & inspection services.
  • Safety Management – OSHA/EPA compliance.
  • Risk Management – issuing of insurance certificates, property/casualty & auto claim management, insurance policy over-sight and risk assessment.
  • Workers’ Compensation Management – claim processing, accident/injury investigations, maintaining records relative to employee injuries and accidents (maintaining OSHA 300 records).
  • Liaison with police and fire officials.
