Mindy MayDirector for Student Development and Dean of Women
Mindy joined the counseling team as Director of Counseling Services in January 2014. She feels called to coming alongside others during the challenges of life and offering professional counseling that also strengthens their walk with the Lord by identifying Him as the ultimate source of comfort, healing, and hope. Mindy received her bachelor’s degree from East Texas Baptist University with a major in Psychology with an emphasis in Counseling and a minor in Religion. She then obtained two master’s degrees in Marriage and Family Counseling and Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. Mindy is currently working toward completing her PhD in Psychology/Counseling from Southwestern and her dissertation is focused on trauma needs of adolescent victims of domestic sex trafficking. Mindy has experience counseling and teaching in both academic institutions and the local church where she has gained expertise in helping others through trauma, abuse, eating disorders, depression, sexuality concerns, and relational conflict. She is an active member and presenter for the American Association of Christian Counselors.
