Cedarville University’s Department of Music and Worship is partnering with The State Convention of Baptists in Ohio to host the third annual Worship 4:24 Conference January 27-28. The title of the conference is based on John 4:24, one of the few passages in the Bible where Jesus speaks directly about worship.
The goal of the conference is to help equip musicians, worship leaders, praise teams and tech crews to be effective leaders. Members of Gateway Worship, a worship team from Gateway Church of greater Dallas-FortWorth, Texas, will be the keynote speakers at the conference. All members of the worship team, led by Pastor Thomas Miller, are highly involved in serving their church and are passionate about leading others in worshipping God.
Five breakout session speakers are scheduled to speak at the conference: Darlene Abbott, a children’s music curriculum writer; Patrick Anderson, award winning guitarist and faculty member at Cedarville; Gary Jennings, keyboardist and vocalist who created the eXit Strategy, a relational evangelical strategy process; Dwayne Lee, a cooperative program missionary for the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio; and Roger O’Neel, Ph.D., the director of church music and worship programs at Cedarville.
The event is open to the public and requires those who are attending to register online at Worship 4:24 Conference or call 1-877-CEDARVILLE (233-2784). When registering before December 21, students’ registration fee will be $20 and non-student registrants will be charged $30. Students who pay after December 21 will be charged $30 and all other registrants will be charged $49.95. The deadline for registration is January 18, 2012.
