Ashley Short, a junior nursing student minoring in cross-cultural nursing, is one of 40 recipients of the Tylenol Future Care Scholarship out of over 25,000 students who applied. The Tylenol Scholarship Program began in 1982, awarding scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing an education in health care.

Short attributes receiving the scholarship to God. “It’s all God that I got the scholarship. He has directed this scholarship and is the only way I can explain receiving it.” God has always provided for Short financially. She said that The Tylenol Scholarship is proof of His faithfulness as it will help to relieve financial pressure. “God is the reason that I’m here at Cedarville and have all the opportunities I have,” she said.

Jan Conway, Ph.D., dean of the School of Nursing and senior professor of nursing, said, “Ashley is an outstanding student, eager to serve the Lord through nursing and other ministry opportunities.”

Short currently tutors at a local public school and the University, and serves as a certified Emergency Medical Technician and firefighter with the Cedarville Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Serving on missions trips is something that Short enjoys as she has traveled to Uganda, Kenya, Nicaragua and Honduras. Short is also planning to spend the summer with a missions agency in Africa.

“It is a joy for me to see her receive this award and represent Cedarville University School of Nursing,” Conway said.
