Professor Daniel Estes’ “Handbook on the Wisdom Books and Psalms” will soon be available to Chinese Christians. A California nonprofit, Kernel of Wheat Christian Ministries, recently signed a contract for both simplified and traditional Chinese editions.
Estes, a distinguished professor of Old Testament at Cedarville University, said, “It’s exciting to me how the Lord has chosen to make this available to China, where upwards of 100 million Christians have very few resources to draw from.”
The book has been used as a text for college and seminary courses throughout the U.S. since it was published in 2005. In 2007, a Korean edition was also published. Estes said he is excited to build into Chinese believers this way, even as he continues building into his students at the University. “It gives me a sense of the worldwide influence we can have at Cedarville,” he said.
Cedarville’s influence in China also includes a summer leadership camp for Chinese high school students and a representative office in Beijing.
