Getting Started Weekend – August 18-20 – will be here soon. Your student is excited, you may be nervous, and (for parents of new students especially) you both probably have a lot of questions! We’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions we get from parents to help as you prepare. We can't wait to have you and your student on campus in just a few weeks!

Where can I find all the Getting Started information?

  • Download the “Guidebook” app in the Apple App or Google Play stores. In the “Search Guides” bar, search “Cedarville University 2017 Getting Started” and download the guidebook.
  • The Guidebook has the complete weekend schedule, area restaurants and hotels, and common Cedarville FAQs.
  • You can also view the Getting Started schedule online.

When should my son or daughter be on campus?

  • Parents of new students, we recommend coming early on Friday, August 18, to maximize your time. Registration begins at 9 a.m.
  • Your student must be on campus by 6:30 p.m. on the August 18 for Jacket Fest. We want your child to meet his/her peers and begin creating the lifelong relationships.
  • Continuing students begin arriving on Saturday, August 19.

How should I arrive at Cedarville?

  • Enter Cedarville on OH-72 and look for the yellow signage. The signs will direct you to the main entrance of Cedarville University and to the Field House for registration.
  • Enter the Field House from the main entrance; look for the inflatable man.

What will be in the Field House during registration?

  • Housing: Meet the Dean of Men and Women and get checked in!
  • Getting Started Tent: Stop and make sure you have submitted the proper information for University Medical Services.
  • University Medical Services (J): Hand in medical release forms and meet our campus nurses.
  • Keys (A): Get your room key!
  • Student Life and Christian Ministries (C)
  • Information Technology (K): Connect your mobile devices/computers/tablets to the Cedarville internet servers.
  • Registrar's Office (E): Get your class schedule.
  • Post Office (T): Get your campus box number and combination.
  • IDs (S): Get your Cedarville student ID.
  • Banks: If you're not from the area, you may talk with a worker from area banks in order to set up a bank account closer to the 'Ville.
  • Resource Section:  Library, Music and Worship, ROTC, Speech Forensics, Alumni Relations, Admissions
  • Getting Started Central Tent: Get a wristband with your small group number.

Once you’ve completed each of the stations, you can exit through the Exercise Center.

What can I do while my student enjoys the Getting Started festivities?

We have several meetings throughout the weekend to prepare you for leaving your student at Cedarville and to give you a glimpse of what they will experience at Cedarville.
