Exciting Degree Options for Your Student

January 31, 2019

We want to make you aware of some exciting degree options Cedarville offers to students to accelerate their academic programs and increase their marketability.

Bachelor's to Master's Pathways

Did you know that Cedarville offers accelerated completion pathways that allow students to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in just five years? These pathways save students who desire a master’s degree time and money, while making them more marketable in the workforce. We already have several plans available, with more coming. And, we can always customize a plan for your student if one does not exist yet for his or her major.

Pharm.D./M.B.A. Dual Degree

If your son or daughter is in the prepharmacy program, we thought you might be interested in a new video. In it you’ll hear recent Pharm.D. graduate Danielle Polley discuss why she wishes she had pursued her M.B.A. at the same time as her Pharm.D. Now that she’s graduated and has worked in the pharmacy field, she’s seen firsthand how business skills are beneficial to a pharmacist. Encourage your son or daughter to consider adding an M.B.A. to their Pharm.D.

Celebrating Highlights of the Past Year

January 22, 2019

Students jumping in the snow

As we begin a new calendar year, it's a great time to reflect on God's goodness to Cedarville University in 2018 and all that He has done here. We'd like to share the 2018 Highlights of the Year report with you.

You'll notice a common thread: God has richly blessed Cedarville University. And everything we do, we do for Him. From record enrollment to cherished times in chapel to students taking the Gospel to a lost and hurting world, you’ll see that God continues to have His sovereign hand on our campus. And, as we look to the new year, you can be confident that, by God's grace, we will continue to stand for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ. We will remain resolute in pursuing our vision to transform lives for godly service, vocational distinction, and cultural engagement.

Please take time to review this report, and be encouraged about the truly life-transforming education your son or daughter is experiencing at Cedarville University. Read the 2018 Highlights of the Year now.

Li'l Sibs Weekend Is Coming Up!

January 17, 2019

Li'l Sibs graphicLil Sibs Weekend is coming up, and it's not just for students!

Does your student have younger siblings at home? Then they'll want to join their big sib at Lil Sibs Weekend on February 15-17. They'll get a firsthand look at college life at Cedarville while experiencing Alt Night, basketball games, a concert, and more. Kids 12 and older can even stay in the dorms with their big sibs. My girls have come in the past and had a blast!

While your kids are having an awesome time together, you can join other parents for some fun activities:

  • Parent Coffee House – Friday, February 15, 7-9 p.m., BTS 102/103 ($5 each)
  • Parent Brunch – Saturday, February 16, 9-11 a.m., Stinger's ($5 each)

It'll be a great time to get to know other Cedarville parents. My wife and I will be at both events and hope to meet many of you there.

Executive Director of Alumni and Parent Relations

Announcing New Placement Rates

January 15, 2019

smiling graduatesYou’ve heard us talk a lot about the quality of a Cedarville education. We're excited to share new information that affirms the results of our efforts and the caliber of our students and alumni.

In a recent survey of our 2018 graduates, we found that an amazing 98.3% of the graduating class was either employed or in graduate school within six months of commencement. That’s well above national averages and evidence that our students are well-prepared to enter the workforce upon graduation. Employers seek out Cedarville graduates for their academic preparation, work ethic, and character.

In fact, for the past five years, our placement rates have consistently topped national averages, as shown in the graph below.

Graph showing Cedarville's 98.3% placement rate for 2018

And, not only are our graduates prepared to obtain good jobs in desirable career fields, they are being equipped to serve God and share the message of the Gospel wherever He leads them. That’s what truly sets Cedarville apart.

P.S. Our Career Services office is one of the big reasons for our graduates' placement success. If your student has not already connected with Career Services, encourage him or her to do so. Career Services offers seven career fairs each year to help students connect with potential employers and build a professional network. The Spring Career Fair is scheduled for February 20.
