Would Your Student Like to Work on Campus?

July 31, 2019

Man purchasing item from female clerkFor students who would like to work on campus, be sure they bring the required documentation and identification in August. This will avoid calls home for you to mail the required items and, more importantly, ensure there are no unnecessary delays in their starting to work.

Please refer to our Student Employment Resources web page. You’ll find a complete list of required documents, work eligibility rules, and more to help your student prepare for campus employment.

July 24, 2019

Cedarville University signWe’re looking forward to having students back on campus in just a couple weeks! Whether your student is coming as a freshman or a returning student, there are two things you can do now to prepare for the year and stay connected with Cedarville: have your student sign you up for emergency notification and join the exclusive Cedarville Parent Facebook page. Read today's post to learn how to do both. They're great ways for you to stay in touch with what is going on at Cedarville.

Welcome to Cedarville Parent Connect!

July 17, 2019

Jeff BesteI graduated from Cedarville College 32 years ago, and I just finished my 31st year as a staff member. But three years ago, I was looking at Cedarville University differently than I ever had before – as a PARENT! My oldest daughter is getting ready to begin her senior year at Cedarville, and she's looking forward to serving as an RA in Printy Hall. My middle daughter will be a sophomore and plays on the Lady Jackets volleyball team. And, we have one more at home who is excited to follow her sisters to Cedarville in a few years. As an alumnus, staff member, and now a parent, I could not be more excited about where Cedarville is today and where we are headed.

The transition to being the parent of a Cedarville student brought some unique insights that first year, though. One of those was our desire for more communication! While we live only a mile from campus, we seldom saw Kylie (she's a crazy busy college student, right?), and when she did call home, the kind of information she shared was not necessarily what was happening on campus, or who was speaking in chapel, or what programs we might be interested in hearing about. It was about HER.

As Executive Director of Alumni and Parent Relations, I realized that parents need a better way to be engaged with Cedarville and what is happening on campus. It is my hope that Parent Connect, prepared especially for parents of current Cedarville students, does just that!

My goal is to send you information at least twice a month that can help you navigate your student's college experience — like school break times, when the semester ends, when your student has to be out of the residence hall as well as when a good weekend might be to come and visit or how to access the live stream of chapel.

I look forward to hearing from you – let me know the kinds of things you want to hear about. How would you like to become more connected with Cedarville as a parent?

We can’t wait to welcome you and your student back to campus in less than a month! And, parents of new Cedarville students, we are so excited to meet you and welcome your student to Getting Started. We're excited about the year ahead!

End-of-Year Information

April 30, 2019

Founders Hall in springIt’s hard to believe, but the academic year is coming to a close this week. We’ll be praying along with you as your student takes final exams and prepares to head home for the summer (or wherever God is taking them!).

As you plan for picking up your student later this week, here are some things to keep in mind:

  • The last contract meal for the semester is dinner on Friday, May 3.
  • Students must be out of the residence halls by Saturday, May 4, at 5 p.m. (8 p.m. for graduating seniors).
  • Parking will be at a premium Saturday morning due to commencement (10 a.m.). If you’re planning on picking up your student on Saturday, you may want to come very early or late afternoon.

If your student will be graduating, thank you for letting us invest in his or her 1,000 days at Cedarville. It has been our pleasure to serve your family.

P.S. Please be praying for the many students who will be serving overseas this summer on global outreach trips. Pray for safe travels, good health, and opportunities to share the life-changing message of the Gospel to those who need to hear it.
