Getting Started Weekend – August 14-16 – is just a week away. Your student is excited, you may be nervous, and you both probably have a lot of questions! We’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions we get from parents to help as you prepare. Be assured that we are taking every precaution possible to ensure your and your student's safety. We can't wait to have you on campus!

Where can I find all the Getting Started information?

  • Download the “Events at CU” app and search for the 2020 Getting Started guide.
  • The Guidebook has the complete weekend schedule, area restaurants and hotels, and common Cedarville FAQs.
  • You can also view the Getting Started schedule online – use the links on the right side to access the guide/schedule.

When should my son or daughter be on campus?

  • Parents of new students, we recommend coming early on Friday, August 14, to maximize your time. Registration officially begins at 9 a.m.
  • Your student must be on campus by 6:30 p.m. on August 14 for Jacket Fest. We want your student to meet his or her peers and begin creating lifelong relationships.
  • Continuing students begin arriving on Saturday, August 15.

How should I arrive at Cedarville?

  • Enter Cedarville on OH-72 and follow the arrows and tents. (Look for the Shell gas station, which is right across the street from the main entrance on University Boulevard.)
  • When you turn onto University Boulevard, tune your radio to 99.5 FM for instructions on the Yellow Jacket Check-In process and safety procedures for Getting Started Weekend.
  • Stay in your car while getting cheered on by current students and proceed to registration. where you will be handed Cedarville-branded masks and a Welcome Packet with your student's residence hall key and ID.

What can I do while my student enjoys the Getting Started festivities?

We have several meetings throughout the weekend to prepare you for leaving your student at Cedarville and to give you a glimpse of what they will experience in this new phase.
