Hayes Wicker to Speak in Chapel

by Natalia Kirychuk, Public Relations Writer – October 24, 2016

Dr. Hayes Wicker, senior pastor of First Baptist Church Naples in Florida and member of Cedarville University’s board of trustees, will be speaking in chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 in the Dixon Ministry Center.

Wicker accepted Christ as a teenager at a New Year’s Eve party – the same night he received God’s call to be a pastor. He has served as the pastor of First Baptist Church Naples since 1992, and has previously pastored churches in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.

In 1972, Wicker graduated from Grand Canyon University in Arizona with a B.A. in sociology, and he earned Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Texas.

While in seminary, Wicker met his wife, Janet, and they have been married for 41 years. They have three children and four grandchildren.

Wicker’s life and ministry verses are Psalm 37:3-5, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.”
