FNP program cited as 12th-most affordable out of 640 online programs when comparing out-of-state tuition.

According to Nurse Practitioner Schools, Cedarville University’s family nurse practitioner (FNP) program is one of the most affordable in the United States.

Cedarville was cited as 12th-most affordable out of 640 online programs when comparing out-of-state tuition. The FNP program is one focus area available to Cedarville Master of Science in Nursing students. Other focus areas include nurse educator and global public health.

The Cedarville M.S.N. curriculum provides in-depth professional and advanced practice study for nurses to expand their knowledge of health care delivery, clinical expertise, leadership and evidence-based practice. And as with all of Cedarville’s programs, the M.S.N. is grounded in a biblical framework.

The FNP program prepares students to deliver care throughout a person’s lifespan and requires pediatric, women’s, adult and older adult clinical courses. Graduates are eligible to sit for certification through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

“The school of nursing has been able to maintain academic rigor yet provide affordable graduate education,” said Kimberly Higginbotham, school of nursing assistant dean of graduate nursing programs. Most graduate students work a full- or part-time schedule while enrolled in courses, making the Cedarville FNP program’s flexibility and affordability a key element.

“The hallmark of the M.S.N. program at Cedarville is the integration of a biblical worldview into all of the curriculum to prepare our students to use nursing as a ministry for Jesus Christ,” added Higginbotham.
