CU's M.S.N. Nurse Educator program ranked seventh in nation thanks to affordability, convenience, and flexibility.

Cedarville University’s online Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) Nurse Educator program was named seventh most affordable by The Best Master’s Degrees website. The ranking looked at accredited, online master’s programs at private universities that offered degrees with nursing education tracks or concentrations.

“Cedarville University is one of our most affordable private colleges to offer an accredited online master’s in nursing education,” said the Best Master’s Degrees editor in the ranking article.

In addition to affordability, the fully online program is designed to be convenient and flexible, with part-time and full-time completion options, and it prepares nurses to work in both academic and practical settings as a nurse educator, staff and clinical faculty educator and continuing education provider.

The program includes the M.S.N. core courses and advanced practice science courses as well as four courses specific to nurse educators. The specialized courses include foundations of nursing education, strategies for teaching and learning, curriculum design and assessment and evaluation techniques. The program also requires two courses with practicum hours for both a clinical and an educational setting.

Graduates are eligible to sit for the Certification for Nurse Educators exam through the National League for Nursing.

“There are many reasons for students to choose Cedarville,” said Rebecca Wagner, coordinator of Cedarville’s M.S.N. nurse educator focus area. “In addition to learning about teaching, learning and curriculum from a biblical worldview, the course content is innovative and evidence-based.”

In addition to nursing education, the M.S.N. program at Cedarville has two other areas of focus: Family Nurse Practitioner and Global Public Health Nursing.
