Cedarville University welcomes Dr. Jarrett Stephens to chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Dr. Jarrett Stephens, teaching pastor at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas, will speak in chapel at Cedarville University on Sept. 12, 2017.

At the age of 17, after speaking at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes event, Stephens felt called to ministry. Then, as a college student in 1997, he attended the Southern Baptist Convention’s annual meeting and heard Pastor Jack Graham preach for the first time. This experience made him realize his desire to become a preacher.

Stephens received his Bachelor of Arts in biblical studies from Ouachita Baptist University, his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from Liberty Theological Seminary.

He began his ministry at Prestonwood Baptist Church in 2000 as an intern in the married adult Bible fellowship, then moved to a ministry serving singles the following year. For the past six years, Stephens has served as teaching pastor, preaching during the weekly Saturday worship service at the campus in Plano, Texas. He also oversees the internship program, which includes more than 30 interns and the Prestonwood Network, which supports pastors leading churches planted by Prestonwood worldwide.

Stephens lives with his wife, Debbie, and their four daughters: Riley, Kelsey, Cameron and Landry.
