Visiting professor Sam Allberry returns to Cedarville chapel

Sam Allberry, writer, speaker and pastor at St. Mary’s Church in Maidenhead, UK, will return to Cedarville University to speak in chapel Nov. 1-2. This will be Allberry’s first time speaking in chapel since he was announced as a visiting professor for the university in August.

After studying theology at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford, Allberry worked at St Ebbe’s Church in Oxford, ministering to university students. He has served at St. Mary’s Church for almost 10 years. He is now a global speaker for Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, but still preaches regularly at his home church.

Allberry is an editor for The Gospel Coalition and has authored several books, including “Is God Anti-Gay?,” “James for You” and “Why Bother with Church?” He is the founding editor of Living Out, a ministry helping Christians who experience same-sex attraction stay faithful to biblical teaching and flourish in their relationship with God.

“I'm really excited to be coming back to Cedarville and opening God's word in chapel,” said Allberry. “I am looking forward to being back on campus, catching up with faculty and students and making plans for my teaching involvement in the new year. I'll also be finding out what I need to get to survive a Cedarville winter!”

Allberry plans to speak on the first chapter of Ephesians in a two-part message, examining Paul’s focus on the blessings of God and how they should fuel our prayer lives.

“It's an amazing part of Scripture that gets us right to the heart of the gospel,” said Allberry. “It has done me so much good to look at it and I hope it will be a blessing to others too.”
