9Marks President Speaking in Chapel

Mark Dever, senior pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., is the keynote speaker for this year's 9Marks conference at Cedarville.

Mark Dever, president of 9Marks and senior pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., will speak in chapel at Cedarville University on Wednesday, Nov. 7. Chapel begins at 10 a.m.

Dever has been president of 9Marks since its founding in 1998. 9Marks exists to help church leaders create healthy churches characterized by nine marks: preaching, biblical theology, the Gospel, conversion, evangelism, membership, discipline, discipleship and leadership.

Since 1994, Dever has also served as senior pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church, located just a few blocks from the U. S. Capitol. Dever trains church leaders at Capitol Hill through an internship program for six men that centers around ecclesiology.

He has appeared at national conferences such as Desiring God, Ligonier Ministries, the Shepherds’ and Together for the Gospel.

Dever has a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina; a Master of Theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky; and a Doctor of Philosophy in ecclesiastical history from Cambridge University.
