Jonathan Akin speaks in Cedarville University chapel

North American Mission Board's Director of Young Leader Engagement will speak in chapel on Wednesday, Jan. 17.


Jonathan Akin, Director of Young Leader Engagement with the North American Mission Board (NAMB), will speak in chapel at Cedarville University on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

In early 2017, the NAMB asked Akin to head up a new ministry to engage young leaders in missions for the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). The new initiative allows the SBC to better engage with pastors aged 25-45.

Before accepting the new role, Akin pastored Fairview Church in Lebanon, Tennessee.

Akin holds a Ph.D. in Old Testament from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) and is the author of “Preaching Christ from Proverbs” and “Exalting Jesus in Ecclesiastes.” He and his wife Ashley have three children.
