Dove Award Nominated Musician Performing at Cedarville

Dove Award nominee Andrew Peterson will begin his 2019 tour with a free concert Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Cedarville University. Peterson will perform at 7 p.m. in the Jeremiah Chapel in the Dixon Ministry Center.

Peterson will also speak in chapel Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 12-13. All events are free and open to the public.

Peterson became connected to Cedarville through Dr. Dan DeWitt, director of the Center for Biblical Apologetics and Public Christianity at Cedarville University. Several years ago, DeWitt was in London, England with a group of students learning about C.S. Lewis. The two bonded over their love of the author and have stayed connected since.

Peterson has been writing and recording music for nearly two decades, connecting with listeners through 11 studio albums. His newest album, “Resurrection Letters Vol. 1” was released in March 2018. He is especially excited to perform “Is He Worthy?” from this album at Cedarville University.

“I love being in academic situations,” said Peterson. “I get this thrill because of how much I love learning. I love being among this demographic. It’s a good time for thinking about and exploring questions.”

Peterson is the author of the fantasy series “The Wingfeather Saga” and released an animated short film based on this series. His Kickstarter fundraising campaign for the film project raised $150,000 beyond its original goal. Peterson also founded a nonprofit organization, The Rabbit Room, to discuss the intersection between faith and art. Peterson will speak about this subject in chapel.

“I frequently talk about faith, art and community and the way my interaction with art and imagination is one of the chief ways that God has spoken to me over the years,” said Peterson. “A combination of Scripture and the arts has really lit me up and given me a vision.”
