Industrial and Innovative Design Growing

The program has experienced record enrollment every year since its beginning in 2010.

Cedarville University graduated 27 students from its industrial and innovative design (IID) program at spring commencement, the largest class to date. The program was established in fall 2010 and has had record enrollment each year.

Cedarville University’s IID program is completed in conjunction with the International Center for Creativity (ICC) in Columbus, Ohio. Students spend their first two years on Cedarville’s campus and their third and fourth years at the ICC.

"The growth of this program has been both exciting and very humbling at the same time,” said Jim Stevenson, president and founder of the ICC. “The marketplace is rapidly moving toward us with more and more opportunities for our graduates, just as our team of faculty and industry advisors has continued to refine and improve the curriculum. So the class of 2019 is not just the largest class to date, but it is also one of the best prepared."

Jennifer Yosinksi, a graduating senior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, believes the industrial and innovative design program gives Cedarville an advantage with prospective students and offers a unique program in Christian higher education.

“The ICC taught me a lot about the creative community and how important it is to surround myself with encouraging, interesting people that love Jesus,” said Yosinski. “I'll miss my little design family, but I'm excited to see all the awesome things they'll be doing in the future.”

Moving forward, ICC is integrating new and unique education options, including a concentration in innovation and entrepreneurship as part of Cedarville’s Master of Business administration program.
