National Town Hall on the Opioid Crisis Coming to Cedarville

by Mark Weinstein, Executive Director of Public Relations – January 22, 2019

Former Fox News host Eric Bolling (center) will moderate and Marc Sweeney, dean of Cedarville's School of Pharmacy (right), will serve on the panel.

Sinclair Broadcast Group will present a national town hall on the opioid crisis on Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 7-8 pm in the Dixon Ministry Center at Cedarville University. The event is produced by WSYX TV (ABC 6) Columbus.

The town hall, “Your Voice. Your Future,” will be moderated by Eric Bolling. The hour-long program will focus on finding solutions to the national drug crisis. Joining Bolling in the discussion will be Dr. Marc Sweeney, dean of the school of pharmacy at Cedarville University and a former president of the Ohio Pharmacists Association; Christopher Menapace, assistant fire chief for the city of Whitehall, Ohio; Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine; and other speakers. DeWine will participate via video.

The town hall will be broadcast live on WSYX TV Columbus and selective Sinclair stations in Ohio. All Sinclair stations will live stream the town hall on their social media and digital platforms.

Bolling’s interest in addressing the opioid crisis stems from the sudden death of his college-age son 14 months ago. He is holding opioid crisis town halls across the country; Cedarville University is his first town hall event in Ohio. During the event, Bolling will interact with each panelist in a one-on-one format, while also offering Cedarville students and the general public the opportunity to ask questions.

The ticketed event requires online registration. Interested people in attending can register at Cedarville.edu/abc6townhall. No person without registering will be admitted to the event.
