Cedarville Stories Podcast: Great Commission Educator

by Clem Boyd, Communication Content Manager – July 16, 2020

Dr. Kevin Jones wants to send teachers to every city and every country around the world.

Dr. Kevin Jones is the new dean for Cedarville’s school of education. He brings an enthusiasm for the Great Commission that is infectious and inspiring. In fact, he wants to see Cedarville graduates teaching around the world, in every city and every country, bringing glory to the Lord as they go.

Kevin views his own career that way, starting with his days as a first-grade teacher in Lexington, Kentucky, and then as a physical education and health teacher in Louisville, Kentucky.

Kevin earned his master’s degree in education from the University of Kentucky, after which he turned his focus to postsecondary training of future teachers. He has a doctorate in education from Spalding University, which he earned in 2016.

The new dean of the school of education has a desire to please the Lord in all he does. He strives to keep Jesus his number one focus and trusts the Lord will open doors for the Gospel as others observe his passion and commitment. Whether it’s teaching a first-grader how to sound out a letter or coaching a future educator, his vocation is a stewardship from God. Kevin’s faith is his career.
