On Friday, Cedarville’s campus activity board will transform Stevens Student Center, the Dixon Ministry Center Lobby, the Center for Biblical and Theological Studies, and Chick-fil-A into a winter wonderland.

Cedarville University is kicking off the Christmas season with cheer, fellowship, and an entire night of decorating.

On Friday, Nov.19, Cedarville’s campus activity board (CAB) will host an all-nighter to decorate the Stevens Student Center (SSC), Dixon Ministry Center (DMC) Lobby, Center for Biblical and Theological Studies (BTS), and Chick-fil-A. More than 120 students and staff on Cedarville’s Campus Experience teams will contribute to the night-long effort.

Planning and preparation are well underway now with CAB readying ceiling decorations, wrapping presents and programming lights. Sunday, Nov. 14, decorations will be pulled out of storage in anticipation of the night-long decorating event.

The decorations will kick off Cedarville’s annual campus Christmas celebration.

“Campus Christmas is a fun tradition because it invites a large group of students to come together and do something fun for others,” Brian Burns, director of Campus Experience, said.

This year’s decorations will feature 30 programmable and moving lights, over 80 up-lights, a large indoor slide, and a fireplace, as well as numerous additional elements.

“Our goal is to transform the spaces we decorate so that others can create memories,” Burns explained. “We want the students to come into these spaces on November 20 and just be encouraged — have a huge smile.”

“We have the opportunity to transform university space,” Burns added. “In transforming these spaces, we want others to be thankful for what God has done and be merry in looking forward to what he will do.”
