Research and Scholarship Symposium Goes Online

The research projects will be available for viewing by the public from April 14-28 through the university’s learning management system, Canvas.

Cedarville University’s annual Research and Scholarship Symposium (RSS) is going virtual again this year. The research projects will be available for viewing by the public from April 28.

"Research and Scholarship is one of the ways we celebrate God's gifts to us to learn more about his word and his creation,” said Dr. Michael Sherr, chair of the department of social work and professor of social work. “The work of students and faculty exploring the frontiers of knowledge and reflecting on the implications for their fields in submission to biblical authority represents an important way we fulfill our mission and vision for the university."

The RSS is a collaboration between Cedarville’s Centennial Library, the school of nursing, and the social work department. This is the second year that the RSS has been virtual.

Last year, the RSS was quickly adapted from a one-day event to a virtual format because of the nationwide COVID-19 shutdown. Regardless of the quick shift, the 2020 RSS was a huge hit. Over 60 projects were presented, and more than 2,000 people viewed the RSS from around the world.

This year, there will be nearly 80 research projects, ranging from presentations to posters, created by students and faculty representing 14 different schools and departments at Cedarville.
