Symposium: Form and Rhythm in Modern Eschatological Worship Songs

February 28, 2022 from 7:00 p.m.

The Cedarville University Music and Worship Department welcomes guest scholar Dr. Sam Ng, Associate Professor of Music Theory, Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Dr. Ng will present his research into the phrase rhythm of various contemporary worship songs with eschatological texts. He will show how these songs employ musical form and rhythm to convey the ideas of delayed fulfillment and resolution. This event is free and open to the public.
