Cedarville University's Department of Music and Worship and School of Education proudly present, Bach’s Literacy Series!

What: A Musical Storytime for young children and their families or teachers.

Book: Duke Ellington's Nutcracker Suite by Anna Harwell Celenza, illustrations by Don Tate. This beautifully illustrated book captures the story of how Tchaikovsky’s iconic Nutcracker Ballet inspired Ellington to modernize the nineteenth century classic for jazz lovers everywhere. His version has become an icon in its own right.

Music: Duke Ellington's adaptation of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite

When: Tuesday, November 7th, 2023, at 2 pm. and 3:30 p.m.

Where: Dixon Ministry Center Recital Hall at Cedarville University, Cedarville, OH 45314.

Who: Cedarville’s University Jazz Band directed by Dr. Chet Jenkins. A musical “petting zoo” will follow the 3:30 performance where children can meet the performers up close and examine the instruments.

Registration: Registration will open on Monday, September 4th, 2023.
