Wind Symphony Concert - April 26, 2021

Wind Symphony Concert

April 26, 2021 from 7:00 p.m.

The CU Wind Symphony will present a powerful evening of music on Monday, April 26th at 7pm in the DeVries Theater. The concert will begin with a new work for band, "Bora Scura," composed by senior composition major, Landon Cina. We will also feature two of our senior trumpet majors, Silas Rea and Kyle Semmelroth, on Peter Meecham's "Song of Hope." In between those two works will be David Maslanka's "Give Us This Day" a powerful work that on any other concert would be the closer. We will finish the concert with John Mackey's "Wine Dark Sea." This programmatic work portrays scenes from Homer's epic, "The Odyssey." True to it's epic namesake, the work is a powerful journey, and will close our concert year in spectacular fashion. This concert is free and open to the public.
