The IT Tier-1 Student Technician is the first line of support for personally-owned computer hardware and software needs of the University community. Technicians are primarily responsible to diagnose and repair software and hardware related issues on computers and other devices personally owned by university students, faculty, and staff, as well as monitor and update the ServeCU (TeamDynamix) ticketing system. Professionalism, communication skills, and willingness to provide friendly customer service are required, as well as general knowledge of computers (in terms of both software and hardware). Students in their sophomore and junior years are preferred. Training is provided. Work shifts are between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the IT Service Center (formerly known as TechStop) in the Tyler Digital Communications Building.
