Parents of Seniors: Complete the FAFSA starting October 1

Parents of Seniors: Complete the FAFSA starting October 1

September 21, 2016

FAFSAThe Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to access all need-based financial aid. Even families who do not anticipate qualifying for federal aid, like the Pell Grant, may receive need-based scholarships from Cedarville and be able to access subsidized student loans.

For the first time ever, the FAFSA opens on October 1 (instead of January 1 as in years past). You can complete the FAFSA electronically at fafsa.gov using your 2015 tax data.

It’s easier than ever, too, as most families will be able to use the automated data retrieval tool to pre-fill much of the tax-related information. Include Cedarville’s federal school code: 003025 to ensure your FAFSA results are sent directly to us.

Our financial aid office has put together resources to assist you as you complete the FAFSA, including an archived webinar. Please note that while the webinar will provide helpful information, it will not address the new October 1 open date.
