If you're like most parents, affordability is one of the biggest concerns in the college search!
The popular media has made college costs a national conversation, and the issues are real and personal for many families. Unfortunately, the sound bites on the evening news are unable to explain and address the myriad of complex issues that have brought us to this point.
For the time being, there does appear to be some moderation in the college cost growth spiral. According to an MSNBC article written by Michele Richinick, the rise in tuition has begun to slow. For the 2013-2014 academic year, cost increases dropped from 8% down to 2.9%, which is the smallest increase since 1975.
Today's Parent Prep post shares 3 important perspectives you need to know about Cedarville University, college costs, and our commitment to affordability.
P.S. Be sure to deposit early to reserve your student's place in the fall 2015 class!

On occasion, we like to call out recent articles that provide helpful perspective for parents for future college students. Today's post highlights a blog from Liberty Street Economics about the value of a college degree.
In recent article on the Liberty Street Economics blog titled "The Value of a College Degree," the authors state that due to rising college costs, mounting student debt, and graduates struggling to find good jobs, people are beginning to question whether it is worth the cost to get a college degree.
Is that concern justified?
Read the authors' conclusions in today's Parent Prep post.
P.S. Did you know there is still time to apply for admission to Cedarville University? We continue to accept and review applications throughout the academic year. Please encourage students who would be a great fit for a quality, Christ-centered education to consider all that Cedarville has to offer!
Why Christ Centered Higher Education?

We all know students who started their four-year college journey … six years ago. Whether they are struggling to pass classes, basking in the learning experience, or simply switching their major too many times, their college education can quickly acquire an even larger price tag when eight semesters turns into twelve.
One of the best ways a university can save you money is to help your student graduate on time. Consider the additional costs if students take five or more years to finish. Consider the cost if they never complete their educational goals!
Today's post discusses this critical issue and offers advice for checking graduation rates and comparing total costs.
P.S. There is still time to register for tonight's FAFSA webinar. The online presentation begins at 8 p.m. EST. Register now.
