Celebrating Record Enrollment, God's Working in Students' Lives!

September 8, 2020

The 2020–21 academic year is off to a great start! More than 1,000 freshmen and transfer students participated in Getting Started Weekend August 14–16, kicking off the academic year and their Cedarville experience (with plenty of COVID protocols in place!). Cedarville now has 4,550 undergraduate, graduate, and College Now (high school dual enrollment) students — our largest enrollment ever. Even in the middle of a pandemic, God has blessed us with record enrollment.

As with every year, Cedarville started the semester with the Fall Bible Conference. This year we welcomed Nathan Lino, Senior Pastor of Northeast Houston Baptist Church, as the conference speaker. Lino spoke from the Beatitudes in Matthew 5, challenging our students to live their lives for Jesus Christ. God is already working in our students' lives, with many making decisions for Christ during the conference! What a great way to start the year! (To watch any of the conference sessions — all held outdoors, physically distanced and masks on — visit our chapel archive.)

Giving students the opportunity to sit under the teaching of nationally recognized Bible speakers, as well as challenging them with highly regarded academic programs, sets Cedarville University apart! As you guide your student through the college search process, discuss the importance of higher education with a biblical worldview and how it can impact them. Visit us to see the difference a rigorous academic program delivered in an authentic Christian community can make.

President's Chapel Series

September 1, 2020

Logo for the Know Jesus. Know Joy. seriesChapel has long been called the heartbeat of Cedarville University, where students, faculty, and staff gather each weekday for dynamic worship and powerful preaching. Chapel is just one way we help our students grow in their walk with Christ, and most students consider chapel a highlight of their Cedarville education! If you really want to understand Cedarville culture and what makes us "tick," you need to experience chapel.

Last week, our president, Dr. Thomas White, began a yearlong sermon series through the book of Philippians. The series is titled "Know Jesus. Know Joy." We’ll discover how a personal relationship with Jesus is the only way we can experience true joy.

We invite you to walk alongside us for this series. It's a great way for you to see the heart of Cedarville University and our president. You can watch chapel by accessing the chapel livestream every morning at 10 a.m. EDT/EST. You'll join hundreds of voices in worship to our great God, and then dig deeply into His Word. Or, you can visit the chapel archive to view past messages of this series, or any other chapel speaker. We also have a CU Chapel+ app that allows you to watch chapel from your smartphone anywhere, anytime.

In this COVID-19 season, chapel has to look different right now. We are meeting outside whenever possible, or gathering with limited attendance in the Jeremiah Chapel while groups of friends meet around campus to enjoy chapel online. We can't wait to be all back together again, but our students have embraced these new ways to join together for worship and Bible teaching, and chapel remains our heartbeat.

Check out our chapel schedule to see when Dr. White and others will be speaking.
